On Saturday 24th February, John Scoates and Maurice Drake hired a small digger and assisted by a team of volunteers with rakes, they filled in the potholes and levelled the road surface. Perhaps the most important thing we learnt from this trial was that work on the whole road could be accomplished in just one day. Because the road was rather wet, no attempt was made to compact the surface. It will also be no surprise that during the recent very wet weather, the potholes have been reappearing.
A letter will shortly be sent to residents about proposals for the future.
