Residents may find the following publications useful when considering the repair, maintenance and retrofitting of their homes.
Herbert Collins grew up close to Hampstead Garden Suburb in north London and was greatly influenced by the architects there. Many of the houses there are of the same scale, construction and materials as our own homes here in Bassett Green. In addition to their main Design Guidance document, the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust has produced a comprehensive range of detailed Technical Guidance which cover topics including Timber Windows, Steel Windows, Rooflights, Pointing of Brickwork, Roughcast, and an excellent Retrofit Guide. All are freely available download from their website: https://www.hgstrust.org/your-property/design-guidance.shtml.
Closer to home, the Glebe Court, Highfield website includes an interesting article on an inexpensive form of secondary glazing:

Although this was written by a resident in 2012 and the costs quoted are now out of date, the advice given is still relevant and a number of residents on our Estate have already benefited from similar installations.
