ETHELBURT AVENUE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Posted on April 4, 2004

Following an item in the last newsletter and a circular to Avenue residents, expressions of support from around fifty households were received for the re-establishment of the Neighbourhood Watch scheme. Twenty residents attended an initial meeting at St George’s School in late March.
It was agreed that the primary focus should be the current problem of vandalism, but that, as the scheme became established, this could be widened to include other concerns.

John Caunt (No 18) was confirmed as co-ordinator with other representatives being: Godfrey Collyer (No 2), Mick White (No 10) Ian Morley (No 23), Ann Clarke (No 63), Kate Clayton (No 102) and Alex Robbins (No 8).
A number of issues were discussed, including police and Community Safety Team liaison, lighting improvements and better communication between residents. The representative group will meet to progress these and hopes to communicate results in due course.
Remember, on every occasion report crime to the police on 0845 0454545.
